17th Anniversary Dinner-Dance 2009

On Saturday, August 29th, Members and supporters of the Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) celebrated their 17^th Anniversary with an evening of elegance, good food and dancing.    The evening began with a delicious buffet, then the board presented the new members present this year, gave awards to the new honorary members and the Scholarship Committee held some raffles to raise funds for the scholarship.  The winners were as follows: Mario Franceschi (Door prize), Evie Cardona (50/50), Andrea Moreira (Certificate) and Millie Gordon (Certificate) and Teresita Prado (Hat dance).

After the dinner and presentation, the members and guest dance with the Latin rhythm of Mendoza sound until late at night.  Thanks to Jimmy and Kathy Rivera who coordinated the event and reserved the clubhouse.  Many thanks go to the members that donated the gifts for the party.  Nancy Rozon (Door Prize), Lucy Santa (Bottle of wine for the hat dance).  Special thanks go to Millie Rivera for the preparation of the food and to Attorney Fasula who donated 2 power of attorney certificates.  The nonprofit organization’s mission is to preserve the Hispanic heritage in the Treasure Coast, pulling together Hispanics from Martin and St. Lucie counties.  The members meet once a month to dine, dance, socialize and raise funds for the scholarship.

17 años de labor social

El Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) celebró sus 17 años de fundación, dedicados a la labor social, cívica y recreativa.  El evento se llevó a cabo en el sábado 29 de agosto en Spanish Lakes Fairways clubhouse en Ft. Pierce.   Amenizó la actividad el D.J. Adan Mendoza y su “Mendoza Sound”.   Despué de la cena se presentaron a los nuevos socios ( Delia Díaz, Felix Asencio, Nora Candelario, Alvaro y Linda Manzanares, Reinaldo y Cecilia Matias, Luis Gómez, Rosie Pagán, Dinah Romero y Gustavo Santa.  También se le entregaron placas de agradecimiento a los nuevos socios honorarios (Lydi Pallares e Ivonne Fraga y Juan Carlos Vega).

Antes de empezar el baile se hicieron las rifas y se entregaron los premios.  Los ganadores fueron los siguientes: Mario Franceschi (Door Prize), Evie Cardona (50/50), Teresita Prado (Baile del sombrero).  También se rifaron dos certificados donados por el Abogado Fasula.  Los ganadores fueron; Andrea Moreira y Millie Gordon.  Todas las ganancias irán al fondo de la beca del club.  El SACI es una organización sin fines de lucro fundada en el 1992 para conservar y promover la cultura hispana en la Costa del Tesoro.
