Annual Picnic at the Langford Park Clubhouse

By Herman Santa

A great number of members of the Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) attended Sunday, August 6, the Annual Picnic at the Langford Park in Jensen Beach.  The picnic started at 12 P.M. ended at 6OOp.m. Many members and their guests enjoyed the ethnic food, music with good company.

There were some members that we haven’t seen for a long time, like Judge Gary Sweet and his wife Liz.  During the party, we also learned that Rico and Casta Arnell are moving to Cincinnati, Ohio to be closer to their family. We wish them the best of luck. We’ll miss them very much.

Among the people attending we saw Laurie Ehler who is candidate for Circuit Judge and gave proof of her Spanish knowledge when she addressed the audience to invite them to vote.  At the picnic, SACl’s scholarship winner Myriam Fernandez from lndiantown was present with her family.

Annual Father’s Day at the residence of Bill Shaw Four Rivers in Palm City

By Herman Santa

On Saturday, June 24, Bill Shaw opened the doors of his magnificent residence to celebrate the monthly meeting of the members in the “Four Rivers” community in the city of Palm City. We had a great time, chatted with old friends, met new members, and savored the delicious buffet made up of various Latin dishes prepared by the members themselves, enjoyed the rich dessert, and ended up dancing to the music provided by Raquel Medina. As usual, at the monthly member meetings, joy, camaraderie, and delicious snacks reign. Thank you, Bill, for planning the party and for lending us a little corner of your residence.

Get Together with disc music at the residence of Daniel and Sara Lee

By Herman Santa

Year after year, Daniel and Sara Lee offer one of the most expected parties for the members of the Spanish American Club, Inc., at their residence located in the city of Port St. Lucie. The most recent one was last Saturday August 26.  The night started with a cocktail around the gorgeous pool where old and new members intermingled with special guests. Later on, they enjoyed a delicious buffet of Latin food of the different countries where members come from.

After dessert, we danced along the excellent Latin music that Danny and Sara had specially selected for this party.  A happy and fun night was enjoyed by all by the poolside along with fine wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres.   Thank you, Danny and Sara, for a well-planned party.

Joyful afternoon at the Aguirre’s residence

By Herman Santa

Among the happiest Colombian members of the Spanish American Club, Inc. are José and Agueda Aguirre, from Cali, Colombia.  They live in Port St Lucia and together with their relatives, opened their beautiful home to us on Saturday September 23rd.  A very important aspect that sets them apart is their generosity towards anyone in need in this occasion they were delighted to host the club’s Get Together since they ware surrounded not only by their friends but also people from all Hispanic America.

It was a terrific party with a great turn out There was pretty much everything, drinks, hors d’ oeuvres, music and, of course1 the wonderful gastronomy (traditional buffet of latin food). All these combined with the great dance music, Colombian music made the Get Together a Success. Thanks to the members and to the charming Aguirre family for making this occasion a genuine experience of camaraderie and love.  After dinner, the Club’s President Dr. Enrique Ospina gave an update about the upcoming activities: The Masquerade Dance on Saturday October 28, the Club’s Anniversary Dinner/Gala on Saturday November 4 and Bowling Tournament on Saturday November 11th.  The next activity is scheduled for October 21 at the residence of one of the members.
