The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated Thanksgiving at a new home

The Spanish American Club, Inc. of Martin and St. Lucie Counties has a new home.  The club is now set in a place to call home: The Elks Lodge 2658 at 2290 SE Lennard Road., Port Saint Lucie, FL. 34952.

The Board of Directors signed a contract for the monthly dinner/dance events for the rest of this year 2019 and future events starting the fiscal year 2020.  As a charitable nonprofit organization the club will continue to donate scholarships, food baskets in Thanksgiving and Christmas toys to needy families in Martin and St. Lucie Counties.

Thanksgiving dinner/dance

On Saturday, November 30th, The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated Thanksgiving at The Elks Lodge 2658.  The hall was full with members and guests.  Every one enjoyed the delicious dinner which included Chicken Marsala, Tilapia W/Linguini, Salad, Bread/Butter, Desert and Coffee.

D.J. José Ramírez was the entertainer. Master of ceremonies and president of the club, Carlos Bonet, welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the status of the club and thanked every one of them for their continued support.  Following the president’s update, the board conducted the raffles.

During a break the D.J. played a birthday song for the members that were celebrating their birthdays in the November.  Among them were: Miguel Rojas, Yolanda Medina, Vivian Megaro, Ray Guadalupe, Javier Andrade, Ernesta Monroe, Orlando Maldonado and Billy Betancourt

Door prize winners were: Elizabeth Mejía, Gilberto Ferri, Orlando Maldonado, Claudia Vega, Al Manzanares, Unidentified member and Evie Cardona. The 50/50 winners were: Félix Asencio, Ana Rodriguez and Félix Sanabria.

The club continued a 26-year tradition by distributing food baskets to underprivileged families for Thanksgiving and collecting holiday gift bags to needy children in the area.  It was a memorable evening.  The entire committee did a beautiful job in organizing the Thanksgiving event.  A big thank you to all the members and their guests who attended, donated Christmas toys for under privilege children and bought tickets for the raffles.  Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship program.

Next events

Plans are currently underway for our “Annual Bowling Dinner/Dance at Club Med on Saturday, December 14th and our last event of the year “Annual Christmas Dinner/Dance” which will take place at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, December 28th, 2019.  The events will be catered.  Reservations are required. Socios del Spanish American Club celebran baile de Acción de Gracias en su nuevo local

Con tragos, celebraciones de cumpleaños y rifas, los socios e invitados del Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) disfrutaron el sábado 30 de noviembre de la tradicional fiesta de “Thanksgiving” en el salón de bailes del Elks Lodge 2658 localizado en la 2290 SE Lennard Road en la ciudad de Port Saint Lucie.

Después de las rifas nuestro D.J. José Ramírez le tocó una canción de cumpleaños a los socios que estaban celebrando sus cumpleaños en el mes de noviembre. Entre ellos estaban: Miguel Rojas, Yolanda Medina, Vivian Megaro, Ray Guadalupe, Javier Andrade, Ernesta Monroe, Orlando Maldonado y Billy Betancourt.  Los ganadores de las rifas fueron: Elizabeth Mejía, Gilberto Ferri, Orlando Maldonado, Claudia Vega, Al Manzanares y Evie Cardona.  Los ganadores del 50/50 fueron: Félix Asencio, Ana Rodríguez and Félix Sanabria

En el evento se recaudaron los juguetes navideños para ser repartidos en los condados de Martín y St. Lucie. El club también donó certificados para el Día de Acción de Gracias a familias de bajos ingresos en los dos condados.  Gracias a la directiva por planear la fiesta que les quedó muy buena, pues gozamos de una noche para recordar.  También le queremos agradecer a todos los socios e invitados por donar los regalos navideños y por comprar los boletos para el 50/50.  Las ganancias irán al programa de la beca del club.

Las próximas actividades del club están planeadas para el sábado 14 de diciembre para celebrar el “Annual Bowling Dinner/Dance en lujoso Club Med.  Y el último evento del año el sábado 28 de diciembre en el Elks Lodge 2658 localizado en la Lennard Road en Port Saint Lucie.  Reservaciones son requeridas.
