Spanish American Club’s Annual Christmas Dinner Dance

On Saturday, Dec. 28, members and supporters of The Spanish American Club, Inc. gathered to celebrate the club’s last event of the year at The Elks Lodge 2658 at 2290 SE Lennard Road, Port Saint Lucie. The attendees enjoyed a delicious sit-down dinner of pork, chicken, fish, salad, baked potato, vegetable medley, and dessert. Entertainment was provided by D.J. José Ramírez.
Carlos Bonet, master of ceremonies and club president welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the club and thanked everyone for continued support. Al Feliciano, Vice president, conducted the raffles (Door prizes, Gift certificates and 50/50) and the December birthday celebration. Among the birthday members present were: Jimmy Rivera, Carlos López, Gustavo Santa, Wanda Wanda Oquendo, Mary Figliola, Elizabeth Mejía, Virginia Feliciano, Néstor Pereira and Rafael Velasquez.
Door prize winners: Annie Borras, Rafael Velasquez, Grace Ortiz, Stella Páez, Fidelgno Casallas, Elizabeth Mejía, Lezette Ramos, Virginia González and Lilian Cruz., 50/50 winners: Nereida Pellot, Josie Guadalupe and David Ramos.
The event ended with the awards ceremony. The board of directors recognized some members and directors for their service, contribution and dedication to the club with Gift cards. Among them were Herman Santa, Ivan Guanill, Virginia Feliciano, Dick Diamond, Karen Diamond and Angel Pellot and Nereida Pellot.
A big “thank you” went out to the board, who worked hard to make the last annual event of the year a big success. Many thanks to the members who helped with the decorations and set-ups. Finally, thanks to the members that donated the door prizes and bought tickets for the raffles.
This non-profit organization’s mission is to preserve the Hispanic heritage on the Treasure Coast. The members meet once a month to socialize, dine and dance. Some members and their guests play golf on Fridays at The Saints Golf Course after 12 P.M. and bowl on Mondays after 5:30 at the St. Lucie Lanes.

El Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) celebró el fin del año en grande con cena y baile en su nuevo local de los Elks Lodge en Port St. Lucie

El sábado 28 de diciembre los socios del El Spanish American Club, Inc. celebraron el fin del año 2019 en grande con cena baile en el nuevo local de los Elks Lodge en Port St. Lucie.
Los socios e invitados se divertieron toda la noche con una deliciosa cena, rifas, premios y baile. El evento fue amenizado por el D.J. José Ramírez. Antes de la cena, el presidente del club Carlos Bonet y maestro de ceremonias le dió la bienvenida a todos los concurrentes y les agradeció por el apoyo que le han brindado en todos los eventos del club.
En un receso el vice presidente Al Feliciano hizo las rifas de los premios, del 50/50 y después el D.J le tocó una canción de cumpleaños los socios que estaban celebrando sus cumpleanos en el mes de diciembre. Entre ellos se estaban Jimmy Rivera, Carlos López, Gustavo Santa, Wanda Oquendo, Mary Figliola, Elizabeth Mejía, Virginia Feliciano, Néstor Pereira y Rafael Velásquez.
Los ganadores de los premios fueron: Annie Borrás, Rafael Velásquez, Grace Ortiz, Stella Páez, Fideligno Casallas, Elizabeth Mejía, Lezette Ramos, Virginia González y Lilian Cruz. Los ganadores del 50/50 fueron: Nereida Pellot, Josie Guadalupe y David Ramos. El evento terminó con la etrega de gift cards a los socios que se destacaron el año pasador por su labor, su servicio y dedicación al club. Los premiados fueron: Herman Santa, Ivan Guanill, Virginia Feliciano, Dick Diamond, Karen Diamond, Angel Pellot y Nereida Pellot.

Spanish American Club, Inc. Hosted a Bowling Dinner at Club Med

On Saturday, December 14 to kick off the Christmas holiday, some members of the bowling group of the The Spanish American Club, Inc. dine, drink and dance at luxury resort of Club Med restaurant in Port St. Lucie. The members and their guest enjoyed drinks, a delicious dinner, live entertainment and dancing until 1 A.M. A big “Thank You” to the bowling Committee for an event that was enjoy by all.

The spirit of Christmas arrived a little early this year for the members of The Spanish American Club, Inc. As every year at our Thanksgiving Dinner/Dance” celebrated at the Elks Club event on Saturday, November 30th, The members and their guests brought unwrapped Christmas gifts for needy kids in the area. The same night, the board of directors authorize gift cards for needy families in the area.
The gift cards and toys were distributed by Herman Santa in Martin county through “Helping People Succeed, Healthy Families division” with the help of Agueda Mejía. In St. Lucie county the toys were distributed by Nancy Rozon. A big thank you to all the members and their guests who donated Christmas toys for under privilege children.

El Elks Lodge Hall de Port St. Lucie fue el lugar perfecto para celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias el sábado 30 de noviembre y para darle la bienvenida a la Navidad en un ambiente familiar entre amigos, tragos, rizas, rifas y baile. Esa noche se recolectaron juguetes navideños que se repartieron en los condados de Martín y St. Lucie. El club también distribuyó Gift cards a las familias de escasos recursos el Día de Acción de Gracias en los dos condados.
Por este medio del periódico La Voz, a nombre de la Junta Directiva del club quiero aprovechar este momento para agradecer a todos los socios e invitados que donaron juguetes. Una vez más, gracias a todos por ayudar a llevar felicidad a nuestros niños en esta época de Navidad.
La próxima actividad del club está planeada para el sábado 28 de diciembre en el club Elks Lodge en Lennard Road en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie. El evento será con cena. Reservaciones son requeridas. The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated Thanksgiving at a new home

The Spanish American Club, Inc. of Martin and St. Lucie Counties has a new home. The club is now set in a place to call home: The Elks Lodge 2658 at 2290 SE Lennard Road., Port Saint Lucie, FL. 34952.
The Board of Directors signed a contract for the monthly dinner/dance events for the rest of this year 2019 and future events starting the fiscal year 2020. As a charitable nonprofit organization the club will continue to donate scholarships, food baskets in Thanksgiving and Christmas toys to needy families in Martin and St. Lucie Counties.
Thanksgiving dinner/dance
On Saturday, November 30th, The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated Thanksgiving at The Elks Lodge 2658. The hall was full with members and guests. Every one enjoyed the delicious dinner which included Chicken Marsala, Tilapia W/Linguini, Salad, Bread/Butter, Desert and Coffee.
D.J. José Ramírez was the entertainer. Master of ceremonies and president of the club, Carlos Bonet, welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the status of the club and thanked every one of them for their continued support. Following the president’s update, the board conducted the raffles.
During a break the D.J. played a birthday song for the members that were celebrating their birthdays in the November. Among them were: Miguel Rojas, Yolanda Medina, Vivian Megaro, Ray Guadalupe, Javier Andrade, Ernesta Monroe, Orlando Maldonado and Billy Betancourt
Door prize winners were: Elizabeth Mejía, Gilberto Ferri, Orlando Maldonado, Claudia Vega, Al Manzanares, Unidentified member and Evie Cardona. The 50/50 winners were: Félix Asencio, Ana Rodriguez and Félix Sanabria.
The club continued a 26-year tradition by distributing food baskets to underprivileged families for Thanksgiving and collecting holiday gift bags to needy children in the area. It was a memorable evening. The entire committee did a beautiful job in organizing the Thanksgiving event. A big thank you to all the members and their guests who attended, donated Christmas toys for under privilege children and bought tickets for the raffles. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship program.

Socios del Spanish American Club celebran baile de Acción de Gracias en su nuevo local

Con tragos, celebraciones de cumpleaños y rifas, los socios e invitados del Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) disfrutaron el sábado 30 de noviembre de la tradicional fiesta de “Thanksgiving” en el salón de bailes del Elks Lodge 2658 localizado en la 2290 SE Lennard Road en la ciudad de Port Saint Lucie.
Después de las rifas nuestro D.J. José Ramírez le tocó una canción de cumpleaños a los socios que estaban celebrando sus cumpleaños en el mes de noviembre. Entre ellos estaban: Miguel Rojas, Yolanda Medina, Vivian Megaro, Ray Guadalupe, Javier Andrade, Ernesta Monroe, Orlando Maldonado y Billy Betancourt. Los ganadores de las rifas fueron: Elizabeth Mejía, Gilberto Ferri, Orlando Maldonado, Claudia Vega, Al Manzanares y Evie Cardona. En el evento se recaudaron los juguetes navideños para ser repartidos en los condados de Martín y St. Lucie. El club también donó certificados para el Día de Acción de Gracias a familias de bajos ingresos en los dos condados. Gracias a la directiva por planear la fiesta que les quedó muy buena, pues gozamos de una noche para recordar. También le queremos agradecer a todos los socios e invitados por donar los regalos navideños y por comprar los boletos para el 50/50. Las ganancias irán al programa de la beca del club.
Las próximas actividades del club están planeadas para el sábado 14 de diciembre para celebrar el “Annual Bowling Dinner/Dance en lujoso Club Med. Y el último evento del año el sábado 28 de diciembre en el Elks Lodge 2658 localizado en la Lennard Road en Port Saint Lucie. Reservaciones son requeridas.
