The Spanish American Club, Inc. (S.A.C.I.) celebrated its 16^th Annual General Assembly

Members and guests of the local Hispanic social club enjoyed an elegant evening of electing a new board, dining and dancing on Saturday January 5, 2008, at Johnny’s Restaurant.  Elected were Lionel Roman, President; Connie Giraldo-Silver, Vice-President; Ron Bryson, Treasurer; Herman Santa, Secretary; and Blanca Mireya Kaiser; Member at large.  The Board also honored Sam Del Rosario and Agueda Mejia during the evening for their service and dedication to the club.

During the meeting, outgoing President Herman Santa reflected upon the many positive aspects of the past year, most notably, the “15^th Anniversary Dinner/Dance”, which collected over $1,500 in donations for the scholarship.  Mr. Santa also thanked last year Board of Directors, William Preciado; Vice President, Martha Gonzalez; Secretary, Rene Cifuentes; Treasurer and Connie Giraldo-Silver; Member at Large for their dedicated service and presented them with awards.

Lionel Roman then took the microphone as incoming President.  Mr. Roman acknowledged Mr. Santa for his tireless efforts and many accomplishments during his tenure.  Each new Board of Director took the opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and share in the vision for the future.  The Board and the members added their thanks with applause.   Before the dinner, Kevin Kryzda took the oath of the new Board of Directors and five new members were sworn in by the new president.  After the dinner, the members and guests enjoyed the evening with the entertainer Gregg Jackson and his Motown music.

El sabado 5 de enero se llevo a cabo la Asamblea General Anual del “Spanish American Club, Inc.” en “Johnny’s Restaurant”.  La asamblea fue dedicada al socio co-fundador Sam Del Rosario, quien ademas recibio una placa por su dedicacíon al club.  Se reconocío tambíen a Agueda Mejía por su servicio al club.  La nueva directiva fue juramentada por Kevin Kryzda, “Administrador de Informacíon del Condado de Martin.   Lionel Román, nuevo Presidente del club tuvo a su cargo la juramentacion de los nuevos socios.

Una vez más la camaradería que distingue a los socios se puso de manifiesto, no solo durante la reuníon y la cena, sino tambíen durante toda la noche.  Sin duda alguna, fue una asamblea de gran exito.   La nueva Junta Directiva se compone de los siguientes socios: Lionel Román; Presidente, Connie Giraldo-Silver; Vicepresidente, Ron Bryson; Tesorero, Herman Santa; Secretario y Blanca Mireya Kaiser; Vocal.  ¡Felicitaciones  a los nuevos dierectores!
