They dined, danced and donated to scholarship

Over 50 guests participated to our Scholarship Night Dinner Dance of the Spanish American Club, Inc. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the “El Floridita Cuban Cuisine restaurant”. Attendees were treated to a delicious dinner of El Florida favorites prepared by the owners of the restaurant Antonio Julian and his wife Mary Cuba.

The Highlights of the night were Ramon “Ray” Cruz and Victor “Vic” Toledo who sang few songs for the attendees. Ray sang two tangos and two Boleros “ Amarga Decepción” and “Sin Egoismo”, “Gricel” and Melodias Arrabal”. Vic played and sang four songs with his guitar “Guantanamera”, “Oye como Va”, “La Bamba” and “Tequila”.

After the artistic show, the scholarship committee held the raffle for the 50/50 and door prizes. Mary Chang was the lucky winner of the 50/50 raffle. Others

door Guitarist and singer Vic Toledo prize winners were: Isa Bryson, Cecilia Pulido and Mercedes Marquez. Herman Santa was the D.J. and chaired the event with scholarship committee Nancy Rozon and Isa Bryson. Thanks to the generosity of the attendees, the party resulted in substantial funds being generated for the scholarship. The next events have been scheduled for Sunday, June 12^th at 3 P.M. “Annual Bowling Tournament” at the Jensen Beach Bowl and Saturday, June 25th to celebrate Father’s Day.

Exitosa puede calificarse la fiesta que tuvo lugar el pasado sábado 28 de mayo. Numerosas caras conocidas del Spanish American Club, Inc. se dieron cita en El Floridita Cuban Cuisine de Port St. Lucie para recaudar fondos para la beca del club.

El evento organizado por el comité de becas del club compuesto por Herman Santa, Nancy Rozon e Isa Bryson comenzó con una cena, un espectáculo de dos cantantes locales y terminó con baile hasta las doce de la noche. Gracias a Julian y Mary Cuba y los que donaron regalos para los concurrentes. Entre ellos: Jose Salcedo “Jose’s Barbershop”, Connie Giraldo-Silver “Real Estate Solutions Today, Inc.”, Ray Cruz, Herman Santa y Nancy Rozon. No podemos olvidar a los cantantes Ray Cruz y Victor Toledo por su actuación que animaron la fiesta con sus melodias de tangos, boleros y “Old Rock & Roll’.
