Spanish American Club celebrated haunting Halloween party

The Spanish American Club, Inc. members never cease to amaze with their participation in our events. Everyone is always ready to do their part to ensure a fantastic event. Members were great with their costumes. It was very difficult for the judges to make a decision for winners of the contest for best female and male costumes. From horror to beauty, it was all there.
Our members continue to show why our club is “the club” to be part of. Although we are a private club, due to security concerns, we do accept solicitations for participation from the general public. We are sure that after you attend one of our events you will probably decide to become members of this fantastic club. These people sure know what it means to live your life.
Since 1992, The Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) has been celebrating Halloween and has been known as SACI Haunting Halloween Party. The annual Halloween event hosted by the members of the club was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 26th at the Disabled American Veterans Hall in Port St. Lucie.
Celebrating October birthdays were Josie Guadalupe, María Ferri, Helena Andrade, Dick Diamond, Fidelino Casallas, Francis Mata and Frank Megaro. Door prize winners were Carlos Lopez, Fidelino Casallas, Estela Páez, Frank Megaro, Eduardo Parra and Yvonne Bonet. The 50/ 50 raffle winners were David Ramos and José Garcia. Best Halloween costume winners were María Garcia and Domingo Sanchez.
Mark your calendar: The Spanish American Club will celebrate the following events at the Elks Lodge which will be catered and reservations are required. “Thanksgiving Dinner/Dance” on Saturday, Nov. 30th at The Elks Lodge, “Bowling Christmas Dinner/Dance” on Saturday, December 14th at Club Med and “Christmas Dinner/Dance” on Saturday, December 28th at the Elks Lodge.

Spanish American Club celebra Baile de Halloween

Desde el año 1992 los socios del Spanish American Club, Inc. han estado celebrando el “Baile de las Brujas”. Los socios del club nunca dejan de participar en los evento de nuestro club. Cada uno de ellos siempre dicen presente cuando hay un baile.
En la úlltima fiesta de “Las Brujas” celebrada el pasado sábado 26 de octubre en el Disabled American Veterans Hall en Port St. Lucie casi todos estaban vestidos con disfraces y fue muy dificil para los jueces escojer los mejores disfraces entre los caballeros y las damas. Estaban todos los disfraces desde el horror hasta la belleza.
Celebrando sus cumpleaños estaban presente; Josie Guadalupe, María Ferri, Helena Andrade, Dick Diamond, Fidelino Casella, Francis Mata y Frank Megaro. Los ganadores de los premios fueron:Carlos Lopez, Fidelino Casella, Estela Páez, Frank Megaro, Ed Parra y Yvonne Bonet. Los del 50/50 fueron: David Ramos y José Garcia.
Los ganadores de los mejores disfraces fueron: María Garcia y Domingo Sanchez. Felicitaciones a los ganadores. Mil gracias a nuestra Junta de Directores y sus comitéspor planear un evento tan exitoso para los socios.
El Club es una corporación con fines no lucrativos fundada en el 1992 para conservar y promover la cultura hispana en la Costa del Tesoro. El objetivo principal es promover el intercambio cultural, de idioma, geografía, costumbres, historia, arte y folklore de los paises de habla hispana.
El próximo baile del club está planeados para celebrar la “Fiesta de Acción Gracias” el sábado 30 de noviembre en el Elks Lodge en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie. Golf Tournament 2019
Members of The Spanish American Club, Inc. Golf Group held their Annual Scholarship Tournament event at The Saints Golf Club in Port St. Lucie

Members and their friends of The Spanish American Club, Inc. held their Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 25th at The Saints Golf Course in Port St. Lucie. The 2 men scramble event featured a number of activities, including “The Longest Drive”, “Closest to the Pin” “Low Score”, “50/50 raffle”, etc. Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day and camaraderie, which concluded at the 19th Hole restaurant with food, awards and raffles
Congratulations to the tournament winners: Harvey Taylor, “Longest Drive”, Gary Bradley“, Closest to the Pin”, Gary Bradley and Rafael Velasquez“Low Net Score”, “Honesty High Score” Cecil Elie and Robert Osborne, “Par 3’s Closest to the Pin” Gary Bradley, Al Peña and Mike Bolanos, “50/50 raffle ” Rafael Velasquez and Herman Santa. Jorge Crespo “Most Improved Player of the Year”.
Other players that participated were: Jorge Crespo, Cecil Elie, Gus Migliore, Mike O’Donnell, Paul Mitchell, Dennis Schmidt, Rob Boals, Ruben Aleman, Norman Robinson, David Santiago, José Garcia, Fernando Mejia, Carlos Bonet and Tony Torello.
Players that donated but could not attend were: Carl Atkins, Frank Timan, John Williams, Jack Klein, Luis Arroyo, Bill Allen, Marco Flores, Jim Lao, Mike Remy and Ed Faivre. Special thanks to David O’Kelly, Manager of The Saints Pro Shop and Mike Bolanos, President of OTHL Logistics LLC who sponsored the tournament.
All funds raised at the event will help the club’s scholarship funds for next year graduating high school seniors of Martin and St. Lucie counties. The Spanish American Club was founded in 1992. The mission of the club is to promote friendship and solidarity among its members and other non profit organizations throughout the Treasure Coast through cultural, social, civic and sport activities; to promote knowledge of all Spanish speaking countries, their geography, history, art, and folklore.
Future events of the club this year: November 9th thru 11th ” Bahamas Cruise”; Saturday, November 30 “Thanksgiving Party”; Saturday, December 8th “Bowling Christmas Dinner/Dance” and Saturday, December 28 “Christmas Dinner/Dance”.

Exitoso Torneo Anual de Golf del Spanish American Club

El grupo de jugadores de golf del “Spanish American Club, Inc.” (SACI) por sus siglas en Inglés, celebraron su Torneo Anual de Golf el viernes 25 de octubre en el The Saints Golf Club in Port St. Lucie.
El formato del torneo fue al estilo de “2 men scramble” que incluyó muchos premios como el de “Longest Drive”, “Closest to the Pin” y “Low Score”. Los ganadores de los premios fuero los siguientes: “Longest Drive”Harvey Taylor, nativo de Jamaica, “Closest to the Pin” el estadounidense Gary Bradley , “Low Score” Gary Bradley y Rafael Velasquez, nativo de Venezuela. “Honesty High Score”, Cecil Elie, nativo de Dominica y Robert Osborne de USA. Los gandoadores de los “Par 3’s Closest to the Pin” fueron Gary Bradley (USA), Al Peña (PR) y Mike Bolaños (Cuba). Los ganadores de la rifa del “50/50 raffle ” fueron Rafael Velasquez y Herman Santa (PR).
Muchas gracias a todo los jugadores que donaron y a los que auspiciaron el torneo entre ellos David O’Kelly, adminstrador del campo de golf y Mike Bolaños, Presidente de OTHL Logistics LLC. Scholarship 2019 (Rancel)
The Spanish American Club, Inc. awards scholarship

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is proud to recognize one outstanding student selected to receive one of the six club’s 2019 scholarship awards. The recipient is Marilyn Rancel of Ft. Pierce.
Marilyn Rancel was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Her parents Guiomar Rancel was born in Puerto Rico and her mother Dora Gallego was born in Colombia. Marilyn is now living with her parents in Port St. Lucie. Marilyn graduated from St. Lucie Centennial High School. This fall she will continue her education in Nursing at Indian River State College and become a Nurse. She would like to start her own business after graduating from Nursing school.
This year scholarship committee Chair by Nancy Rozon and Co-chair by Elizabeth Mejía, María McCutheon and Pamela Peña along with the board of directors Carlos Bonet, President; Al Feliciano, Vice President; Evelyn Carrillo, Secretary; Josephine Guadalupe, Treasurer; Vivian Megaro, Public Relations Director: Nancy Rozon, Vocal Director; Mary Figliola, Substitute Director did a magnificent job selecting the students and running the program smoothly. The committee selected the students for their achievements, trustworthiness, character, responsibility, fairness and academics.
The scholarship was established in 1992 for low-income students. Over the past 27 years, the club has awarded more than $32,000 in scholarships to 47 Hispanic senior of Martin and St. Lucie counties. The board raises money for the scholarships by having 50/50 raffles at the monthly dance parties. The board also organizes other events such as picnics, cruises and garage sales. The committees organize events such as bowling, golf and dominoes tournaments. The Golf Group plays golf every Friday at The Saints Golf Course in Port St. Lucie. They hold a 50/50 raffle on the last Friday of the month. The Bowling Group plays every Monday at 6:00 P.M. at the Saint Lucie Lanes. The bowling group has a 50/50 raffle on the first Monday of the month.
The mission of the club is to promote friendship and solidarity among its members, neighbors and other non profit organizations of the Treasure Coast through cultural, social, civic, charity and sports activities to promote knowledge of the Spanish speaking countries, their geography, history, art and folklore.

El sábado 8 de agosto los socios del “Spanish American Club, Inc.” (SACI) le hicieron una despedida a Rico y Casta Arnell en la residencia de Leticia Goff en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie. Los Arnell se mudarán para el estado de Ohio. Les deseamos buena suerte en su nuevo hogar.
