Spanish American Club has haunting Halloween party

The annual Halloween event hosted by the Spanish American Club was celebrated Oct. 28 at the Disabled American Veterans Hall in Port St. Lucie.
Members and guests were invited for birthday celebrations, snacks, tricks, treats, 50/50 raffles, dance, door prizes and for the best costumes. Master of ceremonies and club President Ruben Aleman welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the status of the club and thanked everyone for their continued support.
Best Halloween costume winners were Nereida Pellot and Jason Modesto. Celebrating October birthdays were Frank Megaro, Josie Guadalupe, Aminda Simpson, Rosendo González, Daisy Alemán, Néstor Locayo and Dick Diamond.
Door prize winners were Alfredo Medina, Alma Locayo, Evie Cardona, Josie Guadalupe, Galud Segura, Yvonne Bonet, Olga Guilén and Joe Abbate. The 50/ 50 raffle winners were Colberto Bodden and Luis Carrillo.

“Celebrando 25 años de existencia todos los meses”

Este año el Baile de las Brujas del Spanish American Club, Inc. fue una fiesta fabulosa. El evento se celebró el pasado sábado 28 de octubre en el Disabled American Veterans Club en Port St. Lucie.
El maestro de ceremonias fue nuestro Presidente Rubén Alemán. Hubo premios para los dos mejores disfraces, rifas, y del baile ni hablar, pues nuestro D.J. José Ramírez puso todo el mundo a bailar con su repertorio de musica latina hasta tarde en la noche.
Después de los premios y de las rifas, el D.J. le tocó una canción a los socios que estaban celebrando sus cumpleaños en el mes de octubre. Entre ellos estaban presentes: Frank Megaro, Josie Guadalupe, Aminda Simpson, Rosendo González, Daisy Alemán, Néstor Locayo y Dick Diamond.

Todos la pasamos con mucha alegría y buena camaradería. Mil gracias a nuestro presidente Rubén Alemán y sus directores por un evento bien planeado y exitoso. El Club es una corporación con fines no lucrativos fundada en el 1992 para conservar y promover la cultura hispana en la Costa del Tesoro. El objetivo principal es promover el intercambio cultural, de idioma, geografía, costumbres, historia, arte y folklore de los paises de habla hispana.
El próximo event del club está planeados para celebrar la Fiesta de Acción de Gracias el sábado 25 de noviembre en el mismo lugar. El evento no es con bufét pero pueden traer sus picadas. Reservacion es requerida.
El último evento del club este año está planeado para el viernes 29 de diciembre para celebrar las navidades con cena, música en vivo con la banda Herencia Latina y D.J. en el Polish American Club de Port St. Lucie. Billiard Tournament 2017
Spanish American Club hosts Billiard Tournament 2017

The Spanish American Club, Inc. Billiard Tournament was hosted Saturday, October 14, at Shooters Billiards 8991 Federal Hwy, PSL at the corner of US1 and village green in Port St. Lucie.
Club member Ivan Guanill coordinated the event. The event produced enthusiastic participation by club members. The billiard tournament featured a ration of 11 players in a round single’s play. The entry fee was $10 per player. The players that lost two games were declared out of the competition.
Winners: Marco Peña, 1st. Place, Ivan Guanill 2nd. Place and Tony Cruz 3rd. Place. Other players that participated were: Roberto Belardo, Rubén Alemán, Luis Arroyo, Felix Asencio, and Al Peña. While the men played billiard, the ladies played dominoes. Among them were Xiomara Guanill, Daisy Aleman, Nereida Pellot and Millie Asencio. Thanks to Ivan Guanill and his committee and to all participants who made this annual event a big success.
The next event has been scheduled for Saturday, October 28, to celebrate the Annual Halloween event. The event is not going to be catered but reservations are required. On September 14, 2015, At the Regular Meeting of the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port St. Lucie Mayor Gregory J. Oravec, presented a proclamation for the Hispanic heritage month. On behalf of the The Spanish American Club, Inc.
Members present to receive the proclamation were Carlos Bonet, Al Feliciano, Tony Colón and Nancy Rozon.
PROCLAMATIONS AND SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS a) PROCLAMATION – HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH Mayor Oravec read the Proclamation, and presented it to the Board of Directors of the Spanish American Club.
Carlos A. Bonet said, “We appreciate the fact that you have chosen the Spanish American Club to receive this Proclamation on behalf of the Hispanic community in Port St. Lucie. We will do our best to keep contributing to the City of Port St. Lucie and to the United States of America. Thank you for the recognition.”
Mayor Oravec commented, “Thank you.”.

On Monday, October 9, 2017, At the Regular Meeting of the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port St. Lucie Mayor Gregory J. Oravec, presented a proclamation to our club for the Hispanic heritage month. On behalf of the The Spanish American Club, Inc. our President Ruben Aleman was present to receive the proclamation.
On his message to the members on Sunday, October 15, 2017, Ruben Aleman wrote a paragraph that said “We were just given a Proclamation singed by the Mayor, in recognition of the Spanish American Club, for what we do for the Latin Community in Port St. Lucie, and the Treasure Coast. Our scholarship program is a fine example of that. Our Club is made up of just about all the Spanish speaking countries in the world, and we should be proud of that”.

Donation-Maria’s Hurricane 2017
The Spanish American Club members hold Maria relief drive for victims of Puerto Rico

A Maria Hurricane Relief Drive at the Luau event at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) last Saturday, Sept. 30 was a collaboration of the members of the Spanish American Club, Inc. and their guests and resulted in the collection of water, paper goods, toiletries, other supplies, food and more to help affected in Puerto Rico.
Thanks to Ruben Aleman, President of the club and his directors, who recognized the need, his truck truckload of supplies made its way to the Puerto Rican restaurant “Rustico” in St. Lucie West which they will send them the island. Ruben Aleman thanked the members and their guests during the Luau event. Please join us and help Puerto Rico recover from that disaster. Spanish-American Club goes Hawaiian in Port St. Lucie

The annual Luau event hosted by The Spanish American Club was celebrated Sept. 30, at the Disabled American Veterans hall in Port St. Lucie.
Members and their guests were entertained by D.J. José Ramirez. Event coordinator was public relations Director Ray Guadalupe who conducted the raffles. The members celebrated the birthdays of the month of September while entertainer D.J. José Ramírez played a Happy Birthday song for them; among them present were Yvonne Modesto, José Mori, Roberto Veléz, Carly Werhly, Joe Abbate and Karen Diamond
Door prize raffle winners were Al Manzanares, Maritza Rivera, Aida Veléz, Carly Werhly, María Allean, Yvonne Bonet, Ligia Bernas, Isa Bryson and Xiomara Guanill (Seated). 50/50 winners were Maritza Rivera and María Quiles. Best luau outfit winners were Virginia González (Ladies) and Rosendo González (Men). (4) It was an evening of camaraderie, picadas, raffles, door prizes, music, leis and of course, luau. A big thank you to our board members who coordinated the event. A special thank you to all the members and their guests who attended and bought tickets for the raffles.
At event the members collected non perishable items to help and support Puerto Rico with the disaster of hurricane María. The items collected will be distributed by Rustico Restaurant in St. Lucie West. Please join us and help Puerto Rico recover from that disaster. Socios del Spanish-American Club celabran fiesta Hawaiiana en Port St. Lucie

Los socios e invitados del Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI), se deleitaron el sábado 30 de septiembre con una gran fiesta al estilo Hawaiiano en el Disabled American Veterans hall in Port St. Lucie. La fiesta la amenizó el D.J. José Ramírez.
Rubén Alemán, presidente del club y Ray Guadalupe, director de Relaciones Públicas le dieron la bienvenida a todos junto a los otros directores quienes planearon el evento. En un receso se hicieron las rifas de los premios, del “50/50”, se celebraron los cumpleaños del mes de septiembre y se seleccionaron las dos mejores vestimentas Hawaiianas.
Los ganadores de los premios fueron: Al Manzanares, Maritza Rivera, Aida Veléz, Carly Werhly, María Allean, Yvonne Bonet, Ligia Bernas, Isa Bryson y Xiomara Guanill. Los ganadores del 50/50 fueron Maritza Rivera y María Locayo. Los ganadores de la mejor vestimenta Hawaiana fueron Virginia González (Damas) y Rosendo González (Caballeros).
En el evento los socios collectaron artículos y donaciones para ayudar a las victimas del huracán María en la isla de Puerto Rico. Los artículos se llevaron al restaurante puertorriqueño Rústico localizado en la ciudad de St. Lucie West. Las personas que no pudieron donar todavía lo pueden hacerlo visitando www.unitedforpr.com. La fiesta hawaiiana fue tremenda celebración en la que todos la pasamos divinamente. Muchisimas gracias a las personas que hicieron las donaciones, regalos para los concurrentes. La próxima actividad del club está Planeada para sábado 28 de octubre para celebrar la fiesta anual de las Brujas. Reservación es requerida.
