SACI announces new board of directors 2010

The Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) has announced the names of the members of its 2010 board of directors.  The new board of directors of the club are: President; Jimmy Rivera, Vice President; Nancy Rozon, Secretary; Al Feliciano, Treasurer; Ron Bryson and Director; Mary Figliola.  In addition of the members electing a new board, the members awarded and Glady Piñeiro last year Board of Director and Dominic Sanchez of “Nuestra Costa TV” for their contribution to the club.  After the dinner, the new board collected some funds for Haiti and the Scholarship Committee had a raffle and the hat dance contest.

Members opened their hearts and their wallets to the Haiti earthquake relief effort.  The Board reported that at the General Assembly Dinner-Dance Party they collected $600 toward Haiti relief.  The funds collected were donated to the local American Red Cross.   Winners of the door prizes, 50/50 and hat contest were: Karen Diamond (Certificate from Marisco Rest.), Xiomara Guanill (Picture), Annie Del Rosario (Gift Basket), Diana Sperl (Certificate from Marisco Rest.), Grisell Guanill (50/50) and Linda Manzanares (Hat Dance Contest).  Last year the club celebrated a very successful year providing scholarships two local High School students, and donating certificates on Thanksgiving Day, collecting toys for low income families and school supplies for local schools.  Thanks to the generosity of our club members who attended the event.  The club is fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers.  They are a big reason SACI is the best Latin social club on the Treasure Coast.

El sábado 23 de enero, el Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) re-eligió la Junta de Directores.  Durante una elegante actividad en el Clubhouse (Plantaion House) en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie, se hizo la re-elección del presidente Jimmy Rivera.  Los otros directores que se unieron a Jimmy son: Nancy Rozon; Vicepresidente, Ron Bryson; Tesorero, Al Feliciano; Secretario y Mary Figliola; Vocal.   Además de agradecer el trabajo que hizo la junta del año pasado, Jimmy presentó el calendario de actividades para este año son: Un viaje a “Las Vegas” y un crucero de 7 díaz por el Caribe incluyendo un día en Puerto Rico.

La nueva filosofía de la organización, que incluye un plan de hacer las actividades mensuales de los socios en lugares donde los socios no pagarán y los invitados pagarán $10 por la entrada con cena y baile.  Algunas de las actividades mensuales serán: Día de Enamorados, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick, Easter, Día de las Madres, Día de los Padres, Picnic, crucero, aniversario del club, Hawaiiana, Halloween, Thanksgiving y Christmas.  Los ganadores de los premios fueron: Karen Diamond (Certificado de Marisco Rest.), Xiomara Guanill (Cuadro), Annie Del Rosario (Canasta), Diana Sperl (Certificado de Marisco Rest.), Grisell Guanill (50/50) y Linda Manzanares (Hat Dance Contest).
