Spanish American Club, Inc. held Thanksgiving Celebration
By Herman Santa
Members of The Spanish American Club, Inc. hosted the Annual Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday, November 29 at the Disabled American Veteran’s Club in Port St. Lucie. Members of The Spanish American Club, Inc. wish to express our dismay and heartfelt prayers and love to the Vignier family on the loss of Cecilia Vignier, wife of Guillermo Vignier. Cecilia was a founding member of the club and remained to this day a valued friend and constant supporter of the club. A moment of silence was observed on memory of Cecilia Vignier.
The evening started with cocktails, the birthday celebration, door prizes and ended with fantastic dancing music. The club continued a 21-year tradition by distributing food baskets to low income families for Thanksgiving and donating holiday gift bags for needy children in the area. A big “thank you” to our board, The Disabled American Veterans Club and to the members and their guests who donated the door prizes, brought Christmas gifts for children in the Indiantown and St. Lucie Counties.
After the raffles, our entertainer, D.J. José Ramírez played “Happy Birthday” song for members and their guests who were celebrating their birthdays during the month of November, among them were: Ernie Monroe, Vivian Megaro, Tony Colón, Ray Guadalupe, Billy Betancourt, Yolanda Foy and Frank Schroedl. Raffle winners were: Diana Vazquez, Ana Rodriguez, Ida Gallant and Santiago Cruz. 50/50 winners were: Mary Figliola and Rossana Parra
