The Spanish American Club, Inc. members celebrated their 1st party of the year

On Saturday, January 30, members and supporters of the Spanish American Club, Inc. gathered to celebrate the 1^st dance of the year of the club at the Disabled American Veteran Club in Port St. Lucie.

This beautiful affair was chaired by the recently elected new board composed by president Carlos Bonet, President; Nancy Rozon, Vice President; Al Feliciano, Secretary; Ruben Aleman, Treasurer; Ray Guadalupe, Public Relations; Luis Carrillo, Director and Melissa Sanchez, Substitute.

During a break, D. J. José Ramírez played a birthday song to celebrated the birthdays of Ana Rodriguez, Olga Perea, Adela Romero, Nereida Pellot, Elvira Jouvin, Evie Cardona, Felix Asencio, Dan Depagnier and Ray Matias. There were door prizes and 50/50 raffles to top off the event.  Door Prize winners were: Ligia Payne, Cathy Migliore, Norma Castro, Fe Val de Ruten, Nereida Pellot and Jóse Rodriguez.  50/50 winners were: Elizabeth Bonet and Luis Carrillo.

Throughout the year, the members meet once a month to socialize, dine and dance.  The non-profit organization’s mission is to preserve the Hispanic heritage on the Treasure Coast and to unionize Hispanics from the Treasure Coast. The group also gives 2 scholarships of $1, 000 each to local High School Hispanic students from Martin and St. Lucie counties. In November the members give food baskets in Thanksgiving for low income families and in December the members collect Christmas toys for needy children.

Saturday, February 27(Valentine Dance), March 26 (Mardi Gras Party), Saturday, April 30 (Annual Picnic), Saturday, May 28 (Mother’s Day Dinner Dance), Saturday, June 25 (Father’s Day Dinner Dance-SACI Anniversary), Saturday, July 30 (Independence Celebration), Saturday, August 27 (Beach Bum Party), Saturday, September 24 (Luau Party), Saturday, October 29 (Halloween Party), Saturday, November 26 (Thanksgiving Party) and Saturday, December 21 (New Year’s Eve Party).
