On March 3, 1995, Ed and Maria Finnerty wrote: Apreciados lectores: A través de este medio mi esposa María y yo queremos darles las gracias a todas aquellas personas que pensaron en nosotros cuando ocurró el fuego en nuestra casa. Después de habernos torcido un tobillo, seguido del flú que nos dió a María y a mi, tivimos las desgracia de tener un fuego en la estufa de nuestra casa que aunque gracias a Dios no hubo perdidas personales, si tuvimos mucho daño debido a todo el humo que se esparció por toda la casa. Todo esto nos dejó verdaderamente frustrados y muy desanimados. Entonces los Milagros comenzaron a ocurrir. Los miembros fabulosos del club al que pertenecemos, nos hicieron sentir que no estabamos solos, que nosotros pertenecemos a algo, que eramos familia. Esto fue de gran satisfacción y ayuda para nosotros. El Spanish American Club, Inc. nos ofreceieron ayuda física y apoyo moral y no podemos dejar de mencionar las preciosas flores y la canasta de frutas que recibimos durante nuestra estadía en el cuarto del hotel. A pesar de que hemos pasado por momentos muy difíciles en nuestras vidas, nos sentimos bendecidos de tener verdaeros amigos como ustedes. Les debemos mucho por la ayuda. !Que Dios los bendiga a todos! Ed y María Finnerty.
