Pasadía en honor a los Padres

Lleno, lo que se dice, lleno, estaba el pabellón que reservaron los directores del club para celebrar el “Dia de los Padres” el sábado 20 de junio. Bajo un cielo nublado y con suave brisa del mar, se reunieron los socios del “Spanish American Club, Inc.” para celebrar el Día de los Padres y presentar ante los socios la ganadora de la beca colegial. Personas de diferentes partes de los condados de Martin y St. Lucie llegaron al “North Jensen Causeway” de Jensen Beach para pasar un domingo amistoso sin importarles el calor y la iluvia.

El Fiesta “Hawaiana”

Como todos los años, el Spanish American Club, Inc. celebró el fiestón Hawaiano el pasado sábado 7 de agosto y no falto nadie. El espacioso salon de baile de Jensen Beach Women’s Club estaba repleto. Gente que nunca se ven aprovecharon para bailar y sacarse el estrés. También para que algunos de nuestros socios se conocieran. Vimos muchas caras nuevas y gente alegre además, casi todo el mundo lució las camisas hawaianas y gozaron bailando con la música deel Coqui”. Muchos disfrutaron de las picadas que les tenía Gladys y Juan Piñeiro, pues nos tenían alcapurrias, empanadas y tostones a precios módicos.

Bus Trip Tropigala 1997
Bus Trip to Tropigala

Los socios celebraron el 5to. aniversarion en grando el sábado 22 de mayo, con un viaje en bus bus al famoso restaurante show Tropigala en South Beach por una noche.
Salieron desde Port St. Lucie en un bus hasta la playa de South Beach. El costo fue gratis para los socios. Allí hubo de todo, música con banda en vivo, especáculos al estilo “Broadway” y hasta baile para los que le gustó la salsa.

SACI Bowlers at Super Play

Do you like bowling? Can you be a team player and willing to practice once a week or once in a while? If you are a member of the Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) and answer yes to these questions, I would like to hear from you! We practice once a week on Mondays at the Jensen Beach bowl. We start at 6:30 until 8:30 P.M., which will give us enough time to play three. The practices are voluntarily. If you like bowling and would like to make new friends, come and join us and have fun with us. We are a fun group!
Le gusta el Boliche? Cada lunes es noche de bolos Los socios del “Spanish American Club, Inc.”, SACI (por sus siglas en inglés) están jugando boliche los lunes desde las 6:30 p.m. hasta las 8:30 p.m. en la bolera de St Lucie West “Super Play”. Se juegan 3 juegos por persona. Esta actividad es solamente para los socios y familiares, pero aquellas personas que quieran unirse al grupo y quieran ingresar al club, pueden venir y participar. La bolera tiene precios muy bajos “$150 por juego”. El grupo de participantes disfrutan de una noche llena de confraternización y camaradería. !Los espero en la bolera!

Spanish American Club, Inc. Hosts Memorable 19th Anniversary

The Spanish American Club, Inc. held its 19th Anniversary on Saturday, September10 at a private club house in Ft. Pierce. The food was delicious, the music was good and the board gave away many door prices. Over 50 members and guests attended the event. The members prepared the event’s menu, which featured arroz con gandules, frijoles negros, yucca, fried chicken, pastas, vegetables and salads.
Right after the dinner and the coffee, they celebrated the member’s birthdays. Among them were Joe Abbate and Karen Diamond. Then they danced until late at night with the rhythm of Max Duhalde. Door prize winners were: Gladys Piñeiro, Millie Gordon, Ida Gallant, Billie Betancourt and Virginia Feliciano. Juan Piñeiro won the 50/50 and Cecilia Pulido won the hot dance contest.
The members have been celebrating the events for nearly two decades now. Many thanks to the board of directors who donated the door prizes and those who helped planned the event. The board extends its thanks to generous members who bought tickets for the 50/50. Save the date: Saturday, Oct. 15. The club will hold its annual Halloween Party.
