Spanish American Club’s annual Christmas dinner dance

On Dec. 28, members and supporters of the Spanish American Club gathered to celebrate the club’s last event of the year at the Polish American Social Club in Port St. Lucie.  The attendees enjoyed a delicious sit-down dinner of pork, cod white fish, chicken, salad, baked potato, vegetable medley, and dessert. Entertainment was provided by D.J. Johnny’s Music.

Rubén Alemán, master of ceremonies and club president, alternating with Ray Guadalupe, Public Relations Director welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the club and thanked everyone for continued support.  Ray Guadalupe, conducted the raffles (door prizes, basket of cheers and 50/50) and the December birthday celebration. Among the birthday members present were: Gustavo Santa, Nestor Pereira, Elizabeth Mejia, Virginia Feliciano, Mary Figliola and Javier Andrade.

Door prize winners: Ray Matias, Mercy Roman, Sonia Echevarria, Isa Bryson, Tom Burger, Josie Guadalupe, Ed Parra, Maite Peterson and Lucy Santa. Basket of Cheers winners: Elizabeth Mejía and Doris Ellie and 50/50 winners: Fideligno Casallas and Elizabeth Mejia.

The event ended with the awards ceremony. Alemán recognized some members and directors for their service, contribution and dedication to the club with Gift cards. Among them were Ray Guadalupe, Maritza Rivera, Josie Guadalupe, Nereida Pellot, Angel Pellot, Rosie Soto, Nancy Rozón, Rubén Alemán, Iván Guanill and Carlos Mejia.  Charlie and María Quiles were not present.

A big “thank you” went out to the board, who worked hard to make the last annual event of the year a big success. Many thanks to the members who helped with the decorations and set-ups. Finally, thanks to the members that donated the door prizes and bought tickets for the raffles.

This non-profit organization’s mission is to preserve the Hispanic heritage on the Treasure Coast. The members meet once a month to socialize, dine and dance. Some members and their guests play golf on Wednesdays at The Saints after 12 P.M. and bowl on Mondays after 5:30 at the St. Lucie Lanes.

»The club’s General Assembly will be at 1:00 p.m. Jan. 6, 2019 at the St. Lucie Lanes in Port St. Lucie. This event is for the members only to elect new board of directors for the fiscal year 2019. Spanish American Club enjoys Evening of Giving

As it usually does, the spirit of Christmas arrived a little early this year as the Spanish American Club, Inc. held its Evening of Giving. The fundraiser was held at the Polish American Social Club. Attendees were encouraged to bring an unwrapped Christmas gifts for needy kids in the area.

The club continued a 25-year tradition by distributing food baskets to underprivileged families for Thanksgiving and collecting Christmas toys for needy children in the area.  The toys were distributed by Herman Santa in Martin through “Helping People Succeed, Healthy Families division” and Nancy Rozon in St. Lucie counties.  A big “Thank You” to the board, the members and their guests who donated the Christmas gifts for the children

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is a non-profit Organization founded in 1992, whose main goals are to promote friendship and solidarity among its members and other institutions, through social, cultural and civic activities and to promote the knowledge of the Spanish speaking countries’ geography, history, art, culture and folklore.

The next dance will be the “New Years Dance” held on, Friday December 28th at the Polish American Social Club, 343 NW Prima Vista Blvd, PSL, Fl. There will be a buffet and reservations are required. Bowling Dinner 2018

Spanish American Club Hosted a Bowling Dinner at Club Med

On Saturday, December 8 to kick off the Christmas holiday, some members of the bowling group of the The Spanish American Club, Inc. dine, drink and dance at luxury resort of Clubmed restaurant in Port St. Lucie.

The event was held at the beautiful Club Med Resort in Port St. Lucie. The members and their guest enjoyed drinks, a delicious dinner, live entertainment and dancing until 1 A.M. A big “Thank You” to the bowling Committee for an event that was enjoy by all.
