The Spanish American Club Inc. hosts Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

On behalf of Board of The Spanish American club, Inc. and the Golf Committee, I would like to thank everyone for participating in this year’s tournament on Friday, October 8, 2021 at The Saints.   Most of all, I would like to thank everyone who donated to the scholarship through out the year and for making this year tournament a great success.

We enjoyed a beautiful day with friends and new golfers.  After the tournament, because of the Covid 19 only a few of us stayed for the awards announcement inside the clubhouse.  We are blessed by their generosity! Congratulations to the tournament winners.

The Spanish American Club, Inc. awards scholarship

Amber Abud

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is proud to recognize one outstanding student selected to receive one of the four club’s 2021 scholarship awards. The recipient is Amber Abud of Port St Lucie.

Amber was born in Hackensack, New Jersey.   Her mother is Monica Romero born in Valparaiso, Chile.  Her father is José Abud born in Dominican Republic and her step mother is Solene Abud born in Dominican Republic.   Amber attended Treasure Coast  High school in Port St Lucie, Florida and she will be attending Barnard College of Columbia University in New York where she will be pursuing a degree in Neuroscience.

This year scholarship committee Chair by Nancy Rozon and Co-chair by Pamela Peña  Elizabeth Mejía and Herman Santa along with the board of directors Carlos Bonet, President; Al Feliciano, Vice President; Evelyn Carrillo, Secretary; Josephine Guadalupe, Treasurer; Vivian Megaro, Public Relations: Nancy Rozon, Director; Mary Figliola, Substitute Director did a magnificent job selecting the students and  running the program smoothly. Kenya Sorto

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is proud to recognize one outstanding student selected to receive one of the four club’s 2021 scholarship awards. The recipient is Kenya Sorto Ramirez of Port St Lucie.

Kenya was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.   Her parents are José Sorto born in El Salvador and Gabriela Ramirez born in Mexico.   Kenya attended St. Lucie West Centennial High school in Port St Lucie, Florida and will be attending University of Central Florida where he will be pursuing a degree in Finance.

Melody Correa

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is proud to recognize one outstanding student selected to receive one of the four club’s 2021 scholarship awards. The recipient is Melody Correa of Port St Lucie.

Melody was born in Miami, Florida.   Her parents are  Juan Correa born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Myriam Alavrez born in Tucuman Argentina.  Melody attended Port St. Lucie High school in Port St Lucie, Florida and will be attending School of Visual arts in New York where she will be pursuing a degree in Animation.

Devin Parham

The Spanish American Club, Inc. is proud to recognize one outstanding student selected to receive one of the four club’s 2021 scholarship awards. The recipient is Devin Parham of Port St Lucie.

Devin was born in Plantation, Florida.  His parents are Davy L. Parham born in Las Vegas, Nevada of Mexican American heritage and Chalonda Parham born in Plantation, Florida.  Devin attended Treasure Coast H.S High school in Port St Lucie, Florida and will be attending University of Central Florida where he will be pursuing a degree in Engineering.

Independence 2021

Independence 2021

Members of The Spanish American Club, Inc. hosted the Annual Independences Party (USA, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia and Perú on Saturday, July 24 at the Disabled American Veteran’s Club in Port St. Lucie.

Everyone enjoyed an evening of drinks, snacks, dancing and raffles. Master of ceremonies and president of the club, Carlos Bonet, welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the status of the club and thanked every one of them for their continued support. Attendees were entertained by D.J. José Ramirez.

After the president’s update, the D.J. played a Happy Birthday song for the members that were celebrating their birthdays in the month of July. Among them present, were: Yvonne Bonet, Theresa Peña, Lillian Villegas and Sandra Tirana.  Door prize winners: Martha González, Stella Paéz, Javier Andrade and Cecilia Pulido.  50/50 winners: Elizabeth Mejía, Ligio Pinto-Bernas and Cecilia Pulido.

A big thanks to our members and guests who helped with the decorations, set ups and assisted throughout the night.  The board is planning the next event “Luau Dance” on Saturday, August 28th at the Disabled American Veterans Hall on California Blvd, Port St. Lucie.  Reservations are required.  Please contact Carlos Bonet at (917) 204-6141 at c.bonet@aol.com.
