Annual Thanksgiving at Dana and Maite Peterson residence in Palm City

By Herman Santa

Anight under the moonlight and enjoying a nice breeze, a great number of members of the “Spanish American Club mc” were delighted by Dana Peterson and his lovely wife Maite’s hospitality during the celebration of the club’s monthly ‘Get Together’ on Saturday November 19.  A great ambience reigned at the beautiful residence of the couple located at Stratford Downs. The social gathering started with a cocktail by the poolside. An exquisite buffet followed it included salads, pork, Spanish rice, Mexican tamales, and even pasta.

After dining, the president of the club, Dr. Enrique Ospina, addressed the guests and reminded them to bring Christmas presents to the next activity of the club, to be donated to low income families’ children from the community.  Dancing to Latin music the celebration lasted until late hours at night. It was a splendid party. Thank you Dana and Maite for yet another well planned event.

Christmas party….Wine, food, music, and camaraderie at Leticia Goff’s residence.

By Herman Santa

How time flies! Next week is Christmas. Although many have been celebrating Christmas since before Halloween, the truth is that time, relentless, does not stop, and before long we will be welcoming 2007. On Saturday, December 16, the members of the “Spanish American Club, Inc.” gathered to celebrate the club’s traditional “X-Mas Party,” which aimed to collect toys for low-income children in the area.

The party that took place at the residence of Leticia Goff and her friend, Roger Janke, in the city of Port St. Lucie, began with cocktails and snacks. Once everyone was gathered, the Christmas buffet was served, consisting of salads, roast pork, rice, cassava, beans, chicken, and pasta. Afterward, we savored the delicious dessert (flan, custard, fritters, and holiday sweets). Once dinner was finished, Leticia played dance music that the members and guests enjoyed late into the night.

Good fellowship, but above all, a lot of Christmas joy was what marked the monthly “Get together” celebration of the Club. Thank you to all the members who donated Christmas gifts. And thanks to Leticia and Roger for the “Christmas Bash,” as we had a joyful time.
