Annual Thanksgiving at the residence of Herman and Lucy Santa in Jensen Beach

By Herman Santa

A cheerful night filled with music, drinks, and a succulent dinner marked the atmosphere of the monthly meeting of SACI members on Saturday, November 13, at a private residence in Jensen Beach. The party began, as always, with a cocktail, a snack table, and soft music to allow everyone to socialize before dinner and dancing commenced. Subsequently, a buffet prepared by the members was served, consisting of meats, rice, light salads, and delicious desserts, among other dishes.

Once everyone had finished dinner, the birthdays of the present members were celebrated, and then the dancing began with compact disc music until late at night. It was a “Get Together” with a relaxing atmosphere to relieve stress, which members and guests enjoy thoroughly every month. Members and guests enjoyed good music and an exquisite and sumptuous dinner. We had a pleasant time, which gave us the opportunity to make new friendships and share in an environment of camaraderie.

The “Get Together” at the residence of Lee and Nancy Rozon in St. Lucie Wes

By Herman Santa

The event took place on Saturday, July 31, at the residence of Lee and Nancy Rozon in St. Lucie West. With a perfect afternoon filled with tropical breezes and the enthusiasm of the members, the rich Latin food and music made for a delightful monthly members’ reunion. From early in the afternoon, members and guests began with a cocktail and then enjoyed the delicious buffet provided by the Rozon family. The buffet featured all kinds of offerings for the palate, including delicious rice with pigeon peas, pasta, Galician broth, roasted chicken, salads, and even desserts.

The birthdays of the members were celebrated, and afterward, attorney Gary Sweet, who is running for the “19th Circuit Court,” reminded us not to forget to vote for him in the primaries on August 31. After dinner, we enjoyed the music “C.D.”; some danced to the latest rhythms of the moment. Thank you, Lee and Nancy, for opening your humble home to our club. Every time we are invited, we have a great time.

¡With masks, color, sound, and flavor! We enjoy Halloween “Jensen Beach Women’s Club”

By Herman Santa

On Saturday, October 30th, the members of the “Spanish American Club, Inc.” celebrated the “Mask Ball” in the ballroom of the Jensen Beach Women’s Club. Those who enjoy “Salsa” and love to dance to such contagious rhythms found a perfect alternative the day before “Halloween,” where more than a hundred salsa dancers and partygoers gathered to celebrate the club’s traditional mask ball.

The event started at 9:00 p.m., but the club opened the hall at 8:00 p.m. so that everyone could chat and enjoy with friends before the sensational D.J. of the moment, Horacio Figueroa, and his “Mobil D.J.s” prepared their musical repertoire for the party. During a break, a mask parade was held, and the three best costumes were chosen. 1st Prize winner; William Figueroa, dressed with a baby on his back, won a certificate for dinner at the Pueblo Viejo restaurant. 2nd Place; Leticia Goff, dressed as a maid, received two tickets for the upcoming Valentine’s Day party, and 3rd Place; Yacie Cordova, dressed as a witch, won a bottle of wine donated by the club.

After the costume contest, a plaque of appreciation was presented to the “Chairman” of the Latin Chamber of Commerce of the Treasure Coast, Mr. Bobby Rodríguez, for his work and cooperation with our club. A plaque of appreciation was also awarded to Mrs. Ivonne Fraga, executive of the weekly La Voz de la Costa del Tesoro, for her contribution and service to the club. She was unable to attend, but her husband Juan C. Vega, Director of the newspaper, was present to receive it.

Xavier Alejandro, Ecuadorian singer and resident of Port St. Lucie, was the surprise of the night as he delighted us with three romantic songs. The attendees were so happy with his melodious voice that they asked for another song, and he gladly obliged. Thank you, Xavier; we wish you much success in your artistic career. The 50/50 raffle was won by Gladys Vélez. Thank you to all the sponsors, to the directors, especially to the committee that decorated the hall and to those who helped sell tickets; the “Halloween” dance was a magnificent and fun night. With this event, the club’s activities for the public conclude this year. Thank you for attending and sharing such good and joyful moments with us as this night.
