This time, it was the Malqui family who hosted the traditional Get Together that the Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) holds every month for its members and their guests. On Saturday, May 27, the members drove down to Wellington, where they were warmly welcomed by the friendly Peruvian family and enjoyed moments of happiness and amusement to the contagious rhythm of a Dominican group that performed the most popular tropical tunes. Of course, the event was accompanied by delicious ethnic food, desserts, and beverages for all to enjoy.

Annual Winter Dance with D. J. Showtime at Disabled American Club (DAV)

By Herman Santa

The “Spanish American Club, Inc.” (SACI) threw the door out the window. The club members and guests joyously celebrated on Saturday, January 7th, at the organization’s first dance of the year.

The meeting served as a venue to unite the partners, who shared the joy of the “Octavitas” and celebrated together the fruit of hard work and teamwork throughout the year. The event took place at the “Disabled American Club” (DAV) in Port St. Lucie. The hall was decorated for celebration to welcome members ready to dance, enjoy a delicious dinner, and elect a new board for the year 2006.

The party started with the Annual General Assembly and continued with dinner. At 8 PM, Raul Del Rosario (Show time DJ’s) began playing modern music of salsa, cumbia, merengue, and energized everyone with his repertoire of songs from “Line Dance” such as “Macarena,” “Electric Slide,” “Chacha Slide” to “Karaoke.” During a break, the “Fifty-Fifty” raffle was held, and then the romantic voice of Ecuadorian singer Xavier Alejando turned the night into a bohemian evening of memories.
