Por Herman Santa

In a cheerful environment with masks and a Latin band, the traditional “Mask Ball” was celebrated on Saturday, October 26, at the Port St. Lucie Community Center in Port St. Lucie. The music was provided by the band “Sabor Latino” from West Palm Beach, who brightened the atmosphere with their Latin flavor until 1 in the morning.

During a break, the winners of the first, second, and third prizes were selected. Thanks to the directors, the sponsors, those who donated the prizes, and everyone who helped plan the best party of the year.

By Herman Santa

On Saturday, December 14, the members gathered at the Best Western hotel in Port St. Lucie to celebrate Christmas and collect holiday toys. Members and guests enjoyed a Christmas dinner, music, and a lot of camaraderie. Thanks to the directors: Pete Echevarria, Arnaldo Palenzuela, Isa Bryson, Lilia Bohórquez, and Odette Gayoso. More than 30 members donated new gifts in Christmas bags for the underprivileged children in the area.

The toy collection committee is made up of Herman Santa and Willie González. Herman and Willie will deliver the gifts to the cities of Indiantown and Ft. Pierce, where many families with limited economic resources live.
