Annual Mothers Day with D.J. José Ramírez at “DAV”

By Herman Santa

On Saturday, May 24, the traditional Mother’s Day Dinner Dance of the Spanish American Club, Inc. was celebrated at the Disabled American Veterans Club in Port St. Lucie.  Before the dinner, master of ceremonies and president of the club, Carlos Bonet, welcomed everyone to the party and gave an update of the status of the club. We began the evening with cocktails and then enjoyed a delicious buffet catered by Mandi’s Café and Catering. The meal consisted of salad, bread, lemon chicken, beef burgundy, green beans, rice pilaf, dessert and coffee.

During the dinner, entertainer D.J. José Ramírez played a Mother’s Day song and a Happy Birthday song for members and their guests who were celebrating their birthdays during the month of May.  D.J. José Ramírez again kept members and their guests on their feet all night with his repertoire of music. He played to everyone’s delight. He also sang a few beautiful songs at the end of the evening. It was an evening filled with laughs, food, dancing and raffles. Raffle winners were: Carlos Bonet, Millie Asencio, Lucy Santa, Jimmy Rivera and Dana Peterson.

A big thank to President Carlos Bonet and his directors, Ron Bryson, Nancy Rozon, Melissa Bonet, Al Feliciano, Tony Colón and Fe Val de Ruten. A special thank you to Vivian Megaro, Erika Rodríguez and Yvonne Bonet for their assistance in serving the food and especially to all the members and their guests who attended.
