By Herman Santa
On Saturday, September 28 The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated its 27th Anniversary at the Disabled American Veterans Club in Port St. Lucie. Attendees enjoyed a night full of fun, an exquisite buffet, raffles, door prizes, birthday celebration and dancing throughout the evening.
Master of ceremonies and president of the club, Carlos Bonet, welcomed everyone to the event and thanked them for their continued support. Carlos made a short speech honoring past directors of the club that where present, among them, Dr, Enrique Ospina, Maite Peterson, Ray Guadalupe, Lucy Santa, Herman Santa, Fe Valderuten, Carlos Mejía, Lionel Román, Melissa Bonet-Sanchez and Tony Colón. If I missed any one, please forgive me.
Just before the dinner, as always, a minute of silence was observed for those members that have passed away. During a break, the board conducted the raffles for the door prizes and 50/50 and celebrated the member’s birthdays of the month of September, while entertainer D.J. José Ramírez played a Happy Birthday song for them.
The 27th Anniversary Dinner Dance marked another milestone of the existence of our club. A big thanks to Carlos Bonet and his board of directors–Vivian Megaro, Public Relations Director; Al Feliciano, Vice President; Evelyn Carrillo, Secretary; Josephine Guadalupe, Treasurer; Nancy Rozon, (Vocal) Director; and Mary Figliola, Substitute Director who dedicate their talent, knowledge and time every month to help and promote fellowship among the Hispanic groups on the Treasure Coast
