Recognized member, Olga González

By Herman Santa

On January 23, 2000, the members of the Spanish American Club, Inc. (S.A.C.I.) presented plaques to the directors of the previous administration for their dedication and contributions to the club. The distinguished members in 1999 were: Yolanda Sánchez, Maite Peterson, Odette Gayoso, Josefina Gerena, and Olga González.

Recognitions are a display of gratitude, congratulations, and distinction. There is no recognition without behind it an extraordinary effort, an outstanding achievement, or a remarkable career. The newsletter “La Voz” is proud to acknowledge the work of an excellent group of ladies. Their vision, effort, and commitment have significantly contributed to the development of the club.

Olga González was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, the same town that I was was born and at a very young age moved to New York. She has lived in Port St. Lucie for many years, and since joining the club, she has worked tirelessly. Your commitment, dedication, and extraordinary civic vision in the Hispanic community of the area have made you deserving of a plaque from the club. Everyone at the “SACI” feels proud of your contribution to the club, not only for having received this well-deserved recognition but also for your inspiring work in helping to guide our club toward a new vision from the present to the future. Congratulations, Olga, enjoy this recognition… In confidence!
