80’s Dance

As usual we had a great time dancing to the 1980’s music thanks to DJ Jose Ramirez. Many informed the Board that it was one of the best dances they have attended.

Christmas Dinner Dance at Martin Down Golf Club and Resort, Palm City

On December 21, 2023, SACI celebrated our Christmas dance at the St. Lucie Trail Golf Club. The Board wishes to thank DJ Luis Ocasio for his work and providing us with his special selected music throughout the night. We weren’t able to mention the December birthdays, therefore, they are listed below: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS! Virginia Feliciano, Mary Figliola, Elizabeth Mejía, Pamela Pena, Gustavo Santa, Dominic Terry, Milagros Cruz, Leonardo Rincón, Judy Robertson, Brigitte, Martin and Gebhard Saup.

Damion Hardin’s lowest game

Damion Hardin shot 79, his lowest game ever on 1/26, 2024. He was with Pat Carmack. Also, On Friday, December 30, 2022, at The Saints. He shot “81” his lowest game ever, he was part of the SACI golf group with Colin Edmonds Rick Schaub and Brendan McCann. Congrats to Damion.

Thanksgiving 2023
Annual Thanksgiving with D.J. José Ramírez at Disabled American Veteran (DAV), Port St. Lucie

On Saturday, November 25, 2023. The Thanksgiving Dance was celebrated at the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) located at 1150 SW California Blvd., Port St. Lucie, Fl. 34953. Master of ceremonies, president of the club Carlos Bonet who welcomed everyone to the party and thanked every one of them for their continued support. During a break D.J Jose Ramirez played a birthday song for the members that were celebrating their birthdays in the month of November.
The club continued a 31-year tradition by distributing food baskets to underprivileged families for Thanksgiving and collecting holiday gift bags for needy children in the area. It was a memorable evening. The entire committee did a beautiful job in organizing the Thanksgiving event. A big thank you to all the members and their guests who attended, donated Christmas toys for under privilege children and bought tickets for the 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship program.

The annual Halloween event hosted by The Spanish American Club “SACI” of Port St Lucie, was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Disabled American Veterans Hall in Port St. Lucie. Members and guests were invited for birthday celebrations, snacks, tricks, or treats, 50/50 raffles, dance, and door prizes. Master of ceremonies was Evelyn Carrillo, secretary of the club welcomed everyone to the party and thanked everyone for their continued support.

Golf 2023 (Rangel)
Most improved player of the year

Lou Rangel has been declared the winner of the “Most Improved Player of the Year 2023”. When he started playing with us last year in his first game, he scored 103 with 2 points. At the present time Lou’s handicap is 28 Handicap and 8 Points, an improvement of 5 strokes. He won a 1/2-hour golf lesson donated by The Saints’ Pro Shop Manager David O’Kelly.! congratulations!

The Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) Holds Golf Tournament Fundraiser for Scholarship

On October 9, 2023, The Spanish American Club, Inc. held a golf tournament charity event at The Saints Golf Course in Port St. Lucie for the scholarship, the oldest and only social, civic and sport non-for-profit club in the Treasure Coast.
Members of the SACI and their friends’ sponsors supported the event by sponsoring golf holes, making donations and buying raffle tickets. The 2 men scramble event chaired by Herman Santa, Gus Migliore and Cecil Elie featured several activities, including “The Longest Drives”, “Closest to the Pins” “Low Scores”, “50/50 raffle” door prizes. Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day and camaraderie, which concluded at the Saints Pub restaurant with awards and raffles.
The SACI could not have held this fundraiser without the help of the golfers among them Chris Antrim, John Bartolotta, Gary Bartz, John Boals, Bob Boals, Carlos Bonet, Gary Bradley, Frank Camacho, Dan Camilli, Matt Carpen, Val Coelho, Junior Colón, Cecil Elie, Scott Engle, Iggy Fernandez, Mike Finkelstein, Frank Garcia, Walter Gomez, Tony Guerrero, Joe Mack, Mike Perkins, Bob Pilla, Ted Piorkowski, Rod Roig, Herman Santa, Neil Scheer, Chuck Shoemaker, Tom St. Pierre, David Timm, Mike Touhey, Otto Vega, Max Verastegui and George Williams.

All funds raised at the event will help the club’s scholarship funds for next year graduating high school seniors of Martin and St. Lucie counties. The Spanish American Club, Inc. of Port St. Lucie is a not-for-profit charitable organization was founded in 1992. The mission of the club is to promote friendship and solidarity among its members and other nonprofit organizations throughout the Treasure Coast through cultural, social, civic and sport activities; to promote knowledge of all Spanish speaking countries, their geography, history, art, and folklore.
Future events of the club this year: Saturday, October 28th” Halloween Dance”; Saturday, November 25th “Thanksgiving Dance”; Sunday, December 2nd “Bowling Christmas Dinner” and Saturday, December 14th “Christmas Dinner/Dance”.

On Saturday, September 30th at the Disabled American Veterans Club, Port St. Lucie The Spanish American Club, Inc. held their Annual Sport Fan Dance. Carlos Bonet, master of ceremonies and club president welcomed everyone to the party and thanked everyone for continued support.
During a break, Carlos conducted the raffles for the door prizes, 50/50 and celebrated the member’s birthdays of the month of September. The Spanish American Club Inc. of Port St. Lucie is a not-for-profit charitable organization founded in 1992. The mission of the club is to promote friendship and solidarity among its members and other nonprofit organizations throughout the Treasure Coast through cultural, social, civic and sport activities; to promote knowledge of all Spanish speaking countries, their geography, history, art, and folklore.
