Spanish American Club members gone cruising “Norwegian Jade”

By Herman Santa

The 11-day cruise to the Panama Canal on the Norwegian Jade was a success.  We had 44 people (Members, relatives and their guests) who altogether were part of the trip.  The trip was organized by Travel Agent of Vacation Superstore Nora Candelario and co-chaired by our secretary of the club Al Feliciano.

We had a full bus which left Nora’s home on Thursday, December 7.  We all arrived on time at the Port of Miami. On the first day, we cruised at night between Miami and Cartagena then the fun began day and night with a lot of food, dancing, casino gambling and of course tours to the ports of Colombia, Panama Canal, Honduras, Belize and Mexico.

While some went to the tours to see the ports of Cartagena, Colón, Roatan, Harvest Caye and Costa Maya other enjoyed a game of dominoes, the spa, the expo, shopping, dancing, and using the gym to work off some of the food from the day before. The shows, Mexican train and cards games were also exciting to play with family and friends.

Unlimited alcoholic (Top shelf) and non alcoholic drinks package was great without having to dig in your pocket to pay for drinks.  Pre-paid gratuities for the cruise staff, the bus driver (motor couch bus round trip transfer) and porters were also included in the price made it an all inclusive trip.

We enjoyed the food (Beautiful dining rooms), the theatre (Good comedians and dancers), the decks with big swimming pool and spas, the bands and the disco too mention a few. We had so much fun that group is planning another trip next year.

On our last day, we cruised at night between Costa Maya and Miami with a beautiful new moon and a nice sea breeze, a calm night to seat back and watch Mother Nature go by.  It was beautiful end to an incredible journey that we will be remember for a long time.
