Annual Mother’s Day with “Pop Caribe” at Knight of Columbus Hall

By Herman Santa

On Saturday, May 10th, the “Spanish American Club, Inc.” celebrated Mother’s Day at the Knight of Columbus Hall in Port St. Lucie. The dance was accompanied by “El Angel de la Salsa” (Angel Roque) and his orchestra “Pop Caribe” from West Palm Beach. Angel had us dancing early with his modern rhythms. As usual, we performed the rueda, the bridge, and there was no shortage of the cañita to dance the calypso style.

The opportunity was taken to celebrate the birthdays in the month of May. Among the birthday celebrants present were Isa Bryson, Reneé Arnao, and Odette Gayoso. In the end, Angel dedicated songs to the mothers.
