Awards 2000 (Odette Gayoso)
Recognized member, Odette Gayoso
By Herman Santa
On January 23, 2000, the members of the Spanish American Club, Inc. (S.A.C.I.) presented plaques to the directors of the previous administration for their dedication and contributions to the club. The distinguished members in 1999 were: Yolanda Sanchez, Maite Peterson, Odette Gayoso, Josefina Gerena, and Olga González.
Recognitions are a display of gratitude, congratulations, and distinction. There is no recognition without behind it an extraordinary effort, an outstanding achievement, or a remarkable career. The newsletter “La Voz” is proud to acknowledge the work of an excellent group of ladies. Their vision, effort, and commitment have significantly contributed to the development of the club.
The dedication and commitment that Odette Gayoso shows toward everything she does makes her deserving once again of great recognition. Although Odette lives in Pembroke Pines, she has almost always been present at board meetings, and when she was unable to attend, with the help of Vice President Maite Peterson, the minutes of the board meetings always reached the members. Odette, also from Puerto Rico, has worked consistently since she joined the club years ago and has significantly contributed with her secretarial experience in computers. Odette collaborated on the revision of the “Bylaws,” the flyers, and other club activities. We’re also adding one more to her account, as she deserves it!
