Spanish American club, Inc. “Mother’s Day” celebration was a success

There was a great turn out of members and non-members of the Spanish American Club Inc (S.A.Cl.) to celebrate Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 13th at the “Veterans of Foreign Wars” in Stuart. The Hispanic American mothers of the Treasure Coast danced until 1 in the morning to the sounds of the great Rumba Brothers. This writer introduced the board of directors of the club: Dr. Enrique Ospina, President; Blanca Mireya Kaiser, vice-president; Isa Bryson, Secretary; Raquel Medina, Treasurer; and William Preciado, Vocal.
Then the raffle for cash prizes took place the winners were Millie Gordon, Mariella Chirinos and Bill Shaw. All, contributions go to a special scholarship fund established by the SAC. The highlight of the night was the presentation of two talents from Colombia Jesus Martinez and Leonardo Meléndez. They delighted the: audience with their interpretation of songs such as “Perfidia” and “Mujer”.
The calendar of activities of the club includes: the monthly ‘Get Together’ scheduled for Saturday May: 27th at a members residence and a cruise trip aboard the “Starling Cruise Lines” of Cocoa Beach scheduled for Saturday June 25. The directors of the Spanish American Club Inc. thank the performers, sponsors. contributors and the decoration committee.

Un gran número de socios e invitados se reunieron el sábado 13 de mayo en el “Veterans of Foreign Wars” en la ciudad de Stuart para celebrar el tradicional baile del “Dia de las Madres”. Al son de los disc jockeys “Rumba Brothers”( Jesus Martínez y Leornado Meléndez), los socios y amigos bailaron los más sabrosos ritmos de la salsa hasta las una de la madrugada. En un receso, este servidor presentó a los directores del club: Dr. Enrique Ospina; Presidente, Blanca Mireya Kaiser; Vice Pres., Isa Bryson; Secretaria, Raquel Medina; Tesorera y William preciado; Vocal y después se hizo la rifa para la beca. Los ganadores fueron: Millie Gordon, Mariela Chirinos y Bill show.
Jesus, el guitarista y cantante colombiano cantó “Perfidia” y otras canciones para las madres. Leonardo también colombiano, lo acompañó tocando los bongos. Los directores del “Spanish American Club, Inc.” le dan las gracias a los artistas, auspiciadores, colaboradores, y a los comités de decoración y propaganda por el éxito de la fiesta.
