The Spanish American Club, Inc. celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the Disabled American Veterans Club in Port St. Lucie on Saturday, June 27. Attendees enjoyed a night full of fun, an exquisite Latin buffet, raffles, door prizes, surprises and dancing throughout the evening.

Ruben Aleman, president along with his directors– Nancy Rozon; vice president, Luis Carrillo; treasurer, Al Feliciano; secretary, Ray Guadalupe; public relations, Isa Bryson; director and Carlos Mejia; substitute– provided a fantastic affair.

The dinner dance was special one of many social events held throughout the year. The 25th anniversary marked another milestone of the members who dedicate their talent, knowledge and time every month to help and promote fellowship among the Hispanic groups in our area.

During a break, club’s secretary Al Feliciano made a short speech in honor of myself and my wife Lucy as co-founders of the club. We were honored that evening and given a special award in recognition of her 25 years of exceptional service to the club. The awards were presented by the president of the club Ruben Aleman.

A special thanks to the following members who helped with the following; Catering-Ray Guadalupe, Diana Nieves, Daisy and Ruben Aleman, Josie Guadalupe, Ivan Guanill.  Decorations-Nancy Rozon, Angel and Nereida Pellot, Luis and Evelyn Carrillo. Set ups-Al and Virginia Feliciano, Dick and Karen Diamond, Augusto and Ana Rodriguez. Servers-Myranda, Joseline and Jeriah.

Founded in 1992, The Spanish American Club, Inc. is the oldest social, civic, sport and benevolence organization in the Treasure Coast. With nearly 150 active members from various Latin American countries, the club fosters positive relations between Americans and other Spanish speaking people from Martin and St. Lucie counties. The directors organize a monthly dance the last Saturday of each month. While some members bowl every Monday at 6:00 P.M. at the Saint Lucie Lanes, others play golf every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. or play dominoes every Thursday at the St. Lucie Lanes at 6:00 P.M.

Future events of the club this year: Independences Dance, Saturday, July 29; Beach Party Dance, Saturday August 26; Luau Dance, Saturday September 30; Halloween Dance, Saturday October 28; Thanksgiving Dance, Saturday November 25, Annual Cruise, Thursday December 7 and Christmas Dance, Friday December 22. 25 años de labor social, cívica, cultural, bénefica y recreativa

“Celebrando 25 años de existencia todos los meses”

El Spanish American Club, Inc. (SACI) celebró sus 25 años de fundación, dedicados a la labor social, cívica, cultural, bénefica y deportaiva y recreativa.  El evento se llevó a cabo en el sábado 27 de junio en el Disabled American Veterans Club en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie.

Los asistentes se divertieron toda la noche. Disfrutaron de un esquisito bufét latino, rifas, premios y baile hasta tarde en la noche. Amenizó el evento el D.J. José Ramírez. Despué de la cena Al Feliciano hizo un pequeño recuento de la historia del club desde 1992 y luego el Presedidente del Club Ruben Alemán nos presentó a este servidor un certificado de apreciación y a mi esposa Lucy un bouquet de rosas por la aportación al club desde su fundación.

Ruben Aleman, Presidente y su Junta de Directores– Nancy Rozon; Vice Presidente, Luis Carrillo; Tesorero, Al Feliciano; Secretarrio, Ray Guadalupe; Relaciones Públicas, Isa Bryson; Vocal y Carlos Mejia; Substituto– hicieron una gran labor en planificar y organizar este evento tan importante para los socios.

El SACI es una organización sin fines de lucro fundada en el 1992 para conservar y promover la cultura hispana en la Costa del Tesoro. Es la única corporación social, cívica, cultural, bénefica y deportaiva en la Costa del Tesoro.  Con una membresía de más de 150 socios de diferentes partes de latinoamérica e incluyendo a España y Estados Unidos, el Club une a los hispanoparlatentes de los condados de Martín y Santa Lucia.

El calendario de actividades del club para el resto del año son las siquientes: Baile de las Independencias, sábado 29 de julio; Baile de Playa, sábado 26 de agosto; Baile de Luau, sábado 30 de septiembre; Baile de las Brujas, sábado 28 de octubre; Baile de Acción de Gracias, sábado 25 de noviembre; Crucero-11 noches (Cartagena, Colombia, Colón, Panamá, Puerto Limón, Costa Rica, Roatán, Honduras, Harvest Caye, Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico), jueves 7 de diciembre y Baile/Cena de Navidad, viernes 27 de diciembre.
