The Spanish American Club Inc. hosts Annual Scholarship Bowling tournament

On Monday, November 4th The Spanish American Club, Inc. held the Annual Bowling Scholarship Tournament at The Saint Lucie Lanes in Port St. Lucie.  Event coordinator was Andres Padilla with co-chair Sid Schipper.  Trophies were awarded for both men and ladies 1st, 2nd , and 3rd place High Handicap Series [HHS] and top Handicap Game [HHG] 1st Place Anthony Ortega (696) and Francis Mata (611). 1st Place Anthony Ortega (696) and Francis Mata (611), 2nd Place David Santiago (661) and Nereida Pellot (598), 3rd Place Andres Padilla (620) and Millie Asencio (593). A big thank you to Andres and Sid who coordinated the tournament. Special thanks to our Bowling Director Ruben Aleman who has been doing an excellent job coordinating the 50/50 raffles every month and the bowling group thought out this year.  Finally, a Big Thank You to Nereida Pellot, Evelyn Carrillo and Carlos Bonet for the planning of our annually Christmas Dinner Dance.

All funds raised at the event will help the club’s scholarship program for next year’s graduating high school seniors of Martin and St. Lucie Counties.  The Spanish American Club was founded in 1992. The mission of the club is to promote friendship and solidarity among its members and other non profit organizations throughout the Treasure Coast , through cultural, social, civic and sport activities; to promote knowledge of all Spanish speaking countries, their geography, history, art, and folklore.

Exitoso Torneo de bolos del SACI…Anthony Ortega y Francis Mata Campeones 2019

El Spanish American Club, Inc. “SACI” llevó a cabo su Torneo Anual de Bolos en la bolera de “St. Lucie Lanes” el lunes 4 de noviembre.  Anthony Ortega dominó la competencia masculina con 510 pinos acumulados en tres juegos (un promedio de 696) conquistó el Primer Puesto.  David Santiago quedó en segundo lugar al derribar 544 pinos (661) y Andrés Padilla quedó en tercer lugar con 560 pinos (620).  En la competencia femenina: Francis Mata se quedó en el 1er. Lugar con 323 palos derribados (611 de promedio).  Nereida Pellot quedó en segundo lugar al derribar 385 pinos (598) y Millie Asencio quedó en tercer lugar con 371 pinos (593)

Este logro no hubiera sido posible sin el apoyo de los socios que juegan bolos todos los lunes a las 6 de la tarde en la bolera de St. Lucie Lanes y por el trabajo realizado por el Comité de Bolos compuesto por Andrés Padilla, Sid Schipper y Rubén Alemán fueron clave para que los socios se animaran para el evento. Gracias a todos los participantes que dijeron presente para una causa tan importante que es la educacion de nuestros estudiantes hispanos. El próximo evento del club está planeados para celebrar la “Fiesta de Acción Gracias” el sábado 30 de noviembre en el Elks Lodge en la ciudad de Port St. Lucie.
